What is The Hukilau?

It is a long-running oceanside Florida tiki weekender taking place at the gorgeous BeachComber Resort in Pompano Beach, where passholders spend the weekend moving between live bands, seminars, the marketplace, beach and poolside events, room parties, and special Mai-Kai programming. Instead of being just one show in one room, it is a full resort takeover with things happening all across the property, blending music, culture, cocktails, and social experiences into one continuous event that runs from daytime poolside gatherings into late-night activity.

What’s the cocktail aspect?

One of the biggest draws is that 20 guest bars and bartenders come in from around the country to serve themed cocktails all weekend long. Hukilau passes include cocktail samples from a large lineup of visiting bars at parties, activations, and featured events, so the drinks are not an afterthought — they are one of the central reasons people come. For many attendees, the breadth and quality of the cocktail program is a major part of the overall experience, making the value clear by turning the entire weekend into an ongoing tasting of some of the best tiki drinks being made anywhere.
